LE PRINTEMPS DES RENNES

On the Finnmark tundra in northern Norway, Nils sets out on his 58th spring migration under the worst of conditions. On his way to the coast, where he will spend the summer, this Sami (formerly Lapp) reindeer herder will introduce us to the obstacles and perils that endanger his life and those of his reindeer: major changes in climate, growing scarcity of lichen, increasing development of energy and mining industries, political constraints. Nils fights for his people, displaying a lucid - and at times disillusioned - view of the attitude of developed countries toward indigenous peoples.
